At WAU Summer Music Festival students get it all: world-class music education, performance opportunities, and Washington DC's arts and culture right at their fingertips.
Please Note: We are not accepting applications at this time.
Sample Schedule
This is what a typical day at the festival might look like. Students have a mixture of planned activities and free time. Please note that this is a sample schedule and is subject to change.
Housing & Food
Local students have the option to commute; however, out-of-town students will stay on WAU campus in Morrison and Halcyon Residence Halls. At least 2 adults will room in campus housing as well.
Performances & Outreach
Students will have the opportunity to perform solo and chamber music at both WAU university and in the surrounding local community. The final concert will feature the festival orchestra and the winner of the composition competition.
Music in DC
Students will venture off of WAU campus to enjoy a concert at one of DC's major performance spaces.
